Tracking Your Life Series: Power Over vs. True Power

Thank you for being here.  For being part of my life even if I never meet you, we are connected.

Without other humans, who are we truly? I am writing because you are here and I want to connect in this way. It is actually an impossibly question as we came from a human, perhaps we created other humans and even when alone, we are energetically and psychically connected with other humans.

But we are not the only natural beings in the world. We are also intimately connected with nature, plants, animals, and all the elements. Everyday, every breath, every movement is connected and creates an imprint in the world.

Sadly, we have moved away from this truth as man becomes the conquerer, the colonizer, the one who extracts resources instead of working with the natural world in it’s innate wisdom and life.

We are in a restoration project now. The restoration of balance and harmony. The holy (healed, health) well (well-being, wellness and wealth). My thread in this fabric has been to spot, and heal where we are disconnected through conditioning and trauma and bring light and repair to those spots. I have come to see this as the move towards inhabiting true power.

We ALL have inhabited power over. The obvious is war and destruction, abuse and control.

The less obvious is the more passive, shall we say manipulative forms of control we have learned to engage in. All power-over patterns have been learned as a part of staying safe when fearful or feeling overwhelmed.

These are the passive-aggressive, people-pleasing, perhaps resentment or repressed anger approaches.

Do you see yourself there? You are not alone.

Moving into true power is sniffing around, feeling your sensations and coaxing these patterns out of the cave by entering the cave, embodying them instead of denying them or defending them, loving them, releasing them into the light.

This is where we have much to learn from the animals in the natural world. In fact, we need those mammal models that are free from shame and trauma and are just busy tracking, moving and being themselves.

This is where I connect so fully with the Lioness and I see the potential for the Lion in men.

The truly divine, strong, fierce and loving feminine and the pure, protective and loving masculine.

Not the toxic models we have been shown that only emphasize one part of the picture and leave out our wholeness, our integrity and our power.

The truth is, you are a powerful, adaptable, and free being inside. You have only learned to be small and fearful and nice or loud and controlling and spiteful.

Mother nature is fierce and ruthless. She is also life-giving and will find ways to thrive and bloom in the most unlikely conditions. You are also built to thrive. Your nervous system is incredibly intelligent and adaptable.

Tracking your own nervous system leads to tracking your wounds, your healing and will lead you home to your true aliveness, your true power.

I have been teaching tracking in many different forms and words my whole life. And now I want to introduce you to tracking your body to track your life.

Start by noticing. Simply notice without judgement. Track what makes you feel heavy and stuck and what makes you feel alive…. follow that. Simply track.

To your true power,

Madeleine

ps. I will be sniffing out a trail as I track the trail of Mary Magdalene and the Cathars in France next month and I can’t wait to see what I will find.

Creativity does not mean you have to take up painting! Anxiety is a form of fear that comes in many disguises.  Thoughts that something bad is going to happen.  Crushing chest tightness and shortness of breath. A mind that projects into the future with all the “what-ifs” that likely will
