Nothing is as it seems

We live through a veil of perceptions, feelings and opinions, often that have nothing to do with reality. If you find yourself worried or stressed about something, ask yourself “what are the facts?” “what do I really, truly know right now?”. Often, it is not very much.

As a mindfulness class member said recently “Own the NOW”, meaning, step fully and completely into this present moment. Life is now, it always has been and always will be now. The future and past do not exist except in thought, and all we ever really know is what we can see, hear, feel and touch right here. It can be a relief to realize our own stories and conditioning that crop up time and time again.

Are you guessing what someone else’s motives or thoughts are? Are you wondering what will happen tomorrow? Both might be vastly wrong. Breathe in deeply 1-2 times and let it go. Life will unfold, often in unexpected ways.

Have a great week,

Madeleine
