The biggest trap of all…

“Thinking is the most overrated human activity.”  Wendell Berry

Disharmony comes when we over-identify with the incessant stream of thoughts that enter and exit our minds all day. It’s like a barrier between you and the real world. Our perceptions, judgements and opinions keep us from directly experiencing reality. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with having opinions, likes and dislikes but when we live completely in the mind we are not ‘here’.

See if you can catch your stories about people, things, activities.  What are you telling yourself? Anything new or are you re-hashing the old? How much energy does that take up and how does it make you feel?

The mind can be a tremendously valuable tool when used wisely. But for a moment today, just breathe and feel the breath. Ahhh… a gap from the limited realm of thinking. Don’t worry, you won’t disappear. Go about your day focussed on what you are doing, who you are with and your surroundings. Feel the peace that arises from being in the world. You are not your thoughts.

In a world that is loud, it is easy to miss the quiet, soft moments where the earth moves. I was at a breathwork class the other night. This was not the usual deeper, slower yogic breathing, it was the activating, hard work, “go deep or go home” type of

This is such an important part of healing and expansion.  In life, we can call it trauma, stress, anxiety, or the everyday difficulties and annoyances, but what is actually
