The Time is Always NOW

Well, I’ve been afraid of changing
‘Cause I’ve built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Even children get older
And I’m getting older too

Stevie Nicks, Landslide

If you’re my generation you can probably hear Stevie Nicks belting out those words as you read them. When I heard those lyrics in a yoga class this morning, I almost fell out of my tree pose.

Not in a morbid, depressing way, but a real, vivid, holy shit kind of way.

Not in an urgent, anxious kind of way, but a peaceful, this-is-it kind of way.

Connected to the bigger picture, the larger cycle of life, where children are getting older as we are, and living in this moment is of primary importance because that’s all there is folks! Don’t let a crisis be the impetus for putting what you truly value on center stage.

So, so, so many of our worries today will be so, so, so irrelevant, not just at the end of our lives, but next year, or even next week. Most of them will be.

The sad reality is that so many people live with worries and fears everyday that simply will never materialize. As Mark Twain says “I’ve lived a life of many sorrows, most of which never happened”.

The world lost an inspirational leader this week. Scott Dinsmore, 29, creator of Live Your Legend, died in a freak accident climbing Mount Kilamanjaro. Scott was passionate about people finding and doing the work they love while on this planet. He said it better than anyone else I know. Listen to his TED talk at the link below and you might also fall out of your tree. Hug those you love today 🙂

A New Kind of Anger

Most of the women I work with who are stuck in people-pleasing mode, have difficulty expressing, or even locating the emotion of anger.  There is a link. A very important one.  Seeing as anger is a life-force energy designed to protect and alert the system that something is wrong, not

How Do You Age Gracefully When You’re So Angry?

You don’t, is the short answer.  First of all, the phrase “aging gracefully” just pisses me off. Why? Because it sends a message that women are supposed to age in smooth, flowing, ballet dancer style.  Not the stop-and-start, messy, sometimes scary and angry and often hilarious way we live.  Oh

My Experiment in Timelessness

This summer I had the opportunity to spend 4 days at my cabin alone.  What I thought would be a time of rest and relaxation, perhaps invite some company, do some work, turned into a whole lot more. And a whole lot less. I noticed when this time arrived I

The Beauty and Danger of Labels

Where are you free of labels? In a crowd or by yourself in nature? “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”   Ralph Waldo Emerson I have to agree with Ralph. This is the work of a lifetime. To find out who you truly are rather than what you have been told.  I went for a run
